Accessibility Policy

Konica Minolta adopts the Universal Design concept in our Websites so they can be accessed and used by more users easily and comfortably. With the recent growth of smartphone and tablet device use, the importance of accessibility is increasing as the circumstances for accessing Websites - such as through devices, environments and users regardless of their age and/or disability - are diversifying.
Konica Minolta's aims are to be a "a robust company that is capable of strong growth" and "a company that is vital to society." Therefore, ensuring accessibility to our Websites as well as our products by all people is essential for attaining these goals.

The merger between Konica Corporation and Minolta Co., Ltd. in 2003 established our current company's predecessor, Konica Minolta Holdings, Inc. With the merger, we have developed the guidelines for our Websites. At Konica Minolta, we have since positioned accessibility as one of our quality standards for our Websites by establishing our own accessibility standards in accordance to WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 1.0 advised by W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).

Promoting accessibility globally

With the renewal of Konica Minolta Websites in 2011, we have revised our Website standards, based on the new standards that conform to Level A of WCAG 2.0, the latest global standard guidelines determined by W3C in 2008. Furthermore, we have established a Guidelines Support Center within Konica Minolta to expand our system globally and to respond to the enquiries by our stakeholders at our bases around the world.

Furthermore, we are implementing measures to improve accessibility to the growing number of video contents provided by Konica Minolta Websites. In particular, we have included text captions (subtitles) that match the voice information in our videos in accordance to Success Criterion 1.2.2 "Captions (Prerecorded)" of WCAG 2.0 so that users with hearing disabilities can also enjoy the videos without hindrance. As of November 2013, over 100 Konica Minolta video contents include captions that conform to Success Criterion 1.2.2.

WCAG 2.0, which is adopted as a standard of Konica Minolta, is also the basis of Website accessibility in various countries around the world, and was approved by ISO/IEC40500:2012 International Standard in 2012.

At Konica Minolta, WCAG 2.0 has been positioned as the common guidelines for each of our countries' Websites, and we have implemented the following tests from 2013 to verify if the guidelines have been met.
